Etudes balkaniques is a quarterly peer-review journal, which has been publishing research since 1964. Research papers related to the Balkan countries in French, English, German, Russian and Italian have appeared in it, thus making them available to a wide scientific community across borders.

Venetians in Peloponnese, Where People Mix (end of 15th century)
Abstract: The relations between venetian and ottoman affairs in Morea began with news opportunities at the end of the fifteenth century (1480-1485). Many documents help us to understand the mutual friendship between the Christian and Muslim masters in this geographical area. Kladas, the famous leader of the stradioti began a war against the Turks in Mani to keep the family’s territories. The clan of Kladas was the only one to receive lands (timar) from Mehmed in 1460 but later, Krokondelos Kladas continued fighting for Venice with a venetian flag but he had committed treason against Mehmed to protest the venetian decision after the treaty in peace agreement in January 1479. After that Kladas and the families of bandits, Greeks and Albanians, had no venetian support. It was a hostile act against Venetian authority. Later, Venice recruited more and more stradioti for the war of Ferrara in Italy and in 1484 and ambassador for Venice to Bayezid II said that the rebels had to leave the Morea. All the letters indicate the friendship between Ottoman and Venetian masters of the Morea.
