Abstract: France conducted an active Eastern policy in the period from the middle of the 19th century until the First World War. One of the main tools with which the Western state imposed its cultural influence on the Ottoman Empire was the spread of European education from Catholic societies. The educational activity of the missionaries is under the direct control of the French government, which through its administrative apparatus controls and manages the development of the educational work in Turkey. The religious society Brothers of the Christian Schools made a serious contribution to the penetration of the French educational system into the territories of the Ottoman Empire.
